Thanks to Ewan and the lads for coming down to the crap-heap Camden last night that was ace. Some initial thoughts...

Ben's drumming was easily the fastest I've seen in ages with the insane gravity blasting brutality... not to mention some of the tightest with his monster rolls... rivaling the likes of Cancerous Womb, Burial etc no trouble. Matched with Ewans gutteral vocals, chunky riffs and the brutal bassist - they are quite a little powerhouse trio of grind.

Only thing I'd experiment a bit with is the guitar tremolo-picking tone and bass drums. A wee little bit of minor triggering on them would probably be sweet, only a little.

If the sound was tweaked up a bit I think it would go a long way to engaging new listeners live. Obviously you weren't entirely on your own gear so that didn't help. I don't know if it's just the quality of the equipment there but, that and I think it's a modern amp / live setup thing in general too, where the guitars seem harder to get right in small clubs, that impeded the overall quality somewhat.

With all that in mind, I think the likes of that new slam-track and some of the later tracks, longer and with slower parts sounded much better all round - the guitar sound really ripped clean on that and it was proper Fetus style head-bang material, which any new listeners could recognise / get into easily (me not knowing all the tracks properly yet). You really needed to know all the other tracks inside-out I think to know what the heck was going on with the rest... as, although it was tight... it was a bit like that scene in Dead Alive with the lawnmower going off... pure blitzing insanity.

The other slight downer I think was too many super-fast tracks. Would definitely like to hear some longer tracks if you do another release anytime soon, ideally with some slower / catchier parts like where Ben was absolutely crushing the toms on one of the latter tracks, that was mad.

I think new listeners would love getting their teeth into that. Too bad it was a Tuesday as there is often a much larger crowd in their.

That'll do for now I think.  Videos to follow hopefully soon, let me know if theirs any issues. Here's a shot of them setting up...

p.s. What the fekk was that on one of the toms? Dead skin Grandpa mask?

Edit:  Okay this guy has some good footage, check it out:

2:50 Children of the slammed.

6:59 Lawnmower annihilation? lol

That came out pretty sweet - too bad he didn't record further and capture one of those 2nd or 3rd last tracks which were some of my favs. I don't know if my vids compare as I was too close to the stage whilst forgetting to play with my cam mic which got obliterated. I might upload a vid or 2 though.

Here's a Beautician clip of Shampoo & Set (In Concrete) which I don't think anyone else captured:

I've just stuck it up without asking  tongue ! If there's any issues let me know. I have some more footage from my angle but, I think that is covered in YT User Greymans video.

Yes could of mentioned the other bands, I spoke to some of them. Bludgeon was like a wall of distortion-cloaked, intricate, tyrannical barbarity. May stick some of their set up soon too.
