Rumblings of a new project.

I'm currently learning how to use some software to create my own cartoon. It'll be in the 80's cartoon style and be an adventuringist type based in the Nordic countries, featuring the Norse gods and my bestest pal in cartoon format.

I'll post updates here and hopefully, someone will want to put it into production after my pilot. If not, there is always youpube.

Currently downloading tutorial videos on how to use the bloody software, as I'm clueless haha.

I have tried though.

What I'm going to do is get a new drawing pad, draw out the characters on paper, then trace using a graphics tablet.

Test successful.

Got a book this morning, which will help greatly. A small hint...It's about horses.

It'll all make sense in time.

Eventually got my lazy arse around to starting the pencil drawings and it feels damn good.

I'm thinking of changing the beard, as I'm not happy with it.

Changed the beard. I think I'm happy with it this time.

Thanks Ben. I'm going to use a pen for the outline, scan it in and then colour it.

Just need to clean it up etc.

A few changes.



It needs a right good clean up and I've broadened the shoulders, as it was going to be weird with the size of the head.

A bit cleaner. I'll see what happens when I import it, as before needed a load of cleaning up.

Side view is almost done.




Then onto the 3/4 view, which I've been doing in between, as you can see.

Taking a bit of a break from doing the cartoon to learn the software inside and out.

In the mean time, I'm doing this as a bit of practice.

If all goes to plan, it might turn out very nice. It's going to be a video for Ruins. I picked it because of it being an instrumental and I won't have to differentiate between the guys (I'm not very good at it as vocals I thought were Chief's are actually Karl's apparently haha :d'oh:) .

Speaking of the cartoon, I did this years ago when I only had paint.

I did and it was that long ago, I can't remember how I did them :olde: haha.

A bit of an update.

I've got some other software for creating animations, no it's not gif construction set haha, which happens to be a lot easier to do animations with. I just need to see about the import qualities of it so I may get back to it and then do the Nile video. And yes, that Viking longship will be included in the cartoon and remember, you saw it here first.

I'm having to re-practise the software haha. The arms went all funny when moving them. I'll post the test video here when I get it sorted.
