| Morning troops. Firstly my apologies for the prolonged absence from the forum. My lame excuse is that I quite literally haven't had the time. Not only this but the ear and vestibular issues of late have prevented me from wanting to look at a computer screen somewhat. NEVERTHELESS! During the good days I've been recording the latest instalment of the Orbeth saga: LOST! 9 tracks and 51(ish) minutes of guitar shreddery and drum blastery! Even some singing! LOL! Enjoy B https://youtu.be/j82qH9qeRvk | |

| And the arm wrestling . Any way, onto the new opus. Only had a slight spin as of now, but for me, the vocals this time out are awesome. Do you do all the vocals B? Or shared? As for me, and I have to keep the volume super low, they sound mixed, like Nile used to do, before Dallas, and don't get me wrong, Dallas is a cool guy, but total Dallas vocals didn't do anything for me. Some nice piano pieces too. I'll download it and stick it on my mp3 player tomorrow, then have a really good listen. | |

| Hey Tommy! Yep everything you hear on the album is me. Some of the vocals are multi-tracked as my singing sometimes resembles that of a mouse in a trap. Hope all goes well with the listen! \m/\m/ | |

| Doesn't sound as bad as my speaking voice . Your death growl has definitely improved, any hints and tips? It's for a friend . | |

| Had a little listen with heedphones on.
Your singing parts remind me of Layne Staley.

NEVERTHELESS! During the good days I've been recording the latest instalment of the Orbeth saga: LOST! That's understandable. Remarkable what is actually achieved during your good days I guess? Good job you haven't quit, the new album is sounding pretty damn grand from what's heard thus far ! As I said in my other post the drums are insane, excellent. One thing I'm surprised with is I was expecting human drumming? If I remember correct you mentioned as much somewhere/someplace.

Ewan has taught me much about vocals. Sometimes less is more i.e. Try less hard and relax the back of your throat for the lower stuff and let the mic do the work. \m/\m/

Not much achieved these days boss. Hence the long wait. Fortunately my diplacusis has gone now so that's a massive bonus. I'm just left with the tinnitus and deafness in the left. Ah yes the drumming. I originally made a custom electric kit to record this album. Unfortunately it developed some quite significant triggering issues that, during recording, i was unable to rectify. Therefore I sampled the module and used fruity poops instead for oober toight loik a toiger battery! I have now fixed the triggering issues though after spending some dedicated time with the kit and can pretty much play along which is ace. In all honesty I prefer the super tight sequenced drums anyway. They give the album that retro Orbeth feel IMO. \m/\m/

\m/\m/ Excuse delayed reply, been away a while. Good to note the improvements! Sequenced drums sound v good, can't go wrong there! Retro Orbeth FTW! At least you got the kit fixed so perhaps some human drumming in future? Keep us posted !
